Near the beach the famous shrine of Pir Jahania is situated. That temple does not follow any religion, both Hindu and Muslims comes to this for taking blessings of Pir jahania.

Beach Festival is an open festival held in Pir Jahania Astaranga on the sea beaches of the coast bay of Bengal. It is held every year in the month of November that coincides with”Karthik Purnima” (କାର୍ଥିକ ପୁର୍ନିମା), the harvest festival in Odisha. This festival in Odisha marks the pinnacle of all the religious festivities held in the most sacred month of Karhik. It is a junctions of the convectional with modern and represents the culture and tradition of the state Odisha. During the beach festival, the beaches are occupied to set up fairs. In this festival, Exhibition of traditional craft is also a part. In this trade fair more than 1500 stalls and shops opened and open for the public for 2 to 3 days from start Karthik purnima in Odisha.
