On 28th March 2016, Haldhar Nag Awarded in India’s prestigious medal PADMASHRI by India president Pranab Mukharjee.
Haldhar Nag is a social worker and writer in koshali language also written as Koshali, Sambalpuri. His other name known as Lok Kabi Ratna from Odisha Sahitya Academy Award in 2014. In March 31, 1950, Haldhar Nag was born in a poor family of ghens in Bargarh district of Odisha. When he was in ten, lost his father. After that he dropout from school after third class and worked in a sweet store as a dishwasher due to his responsibilities towards family. He became compared to Swabhab Kabi Gangadhar Meher and also made a documentary film with his life and works.
Haldhar Nag is a famous poet writer in western Odisha and Chhattisgarh. When he walking in outside from his home, the huge amount of public stand up arroud him for listening Kosali and Sambalpuri Poet. In startup he writing only folk stories in Koshali, after that in 1990s he started writing Koshali poems.
Sambalpuri is uses the Odiya Script in form of Koshali language. When he sent a poem to a news magazine, they are immediately published the poems. Again he sent four more Koshali poems, that was also quickly published and after that he received calls for more of his poems. Also Five Ph.D students doing research on Haladhar Granthabali under Sambalpur University. He writes based on the subjects of people, mythology, nature and religion. For getting new stories for his poems, he walks with barefooted and dressed in a simple vest and dhoti.
